What we install

Fence types we install

Not sure what you need? Most of it comes down to why you're fencing — privacy, pets, pool code, or property line. Here's how the options compare.

01 · Wood privacy

Wood privacy

Pressure-treated pine or western red cedar, 6' or 8' tall, in dog-ear or board-on-board. The most common residential choice in the Birmingham area — full privacy, and it takes stain well.

  • Good for: backyard privacy, blocking road noise, pet containment
  • Lifespan: 15–20 years with occasional staining
  • Note: board-on-board costs more but stays flat as the wood dries

02 · Aluminum

Aluminum ornamental

Powder-coated aluminum in black or bronze. Won't rust, never needs painting, and meets pool-barrier code.

  • Good for: pools, front yards, HOA neighborhoods, keeping the view
  • Lifespan: 30+ years
  • Note: if you're fencing a pool, this is usually the fastest path to passing inspection

03 · Chain link

Chain link

Galvanized or black vinyl-coated, 4' to 6'. The most economical way to enclose a yard.

  • Good for: large yards, dog runs, budget-conscious projects
  • Lifespan: 20+ years
  • Note: black vinyl coating costs a little more and largely disappears against a treeline

04 · Farm & split rail

Farm & split rail

Two, three, or four rail in treated pine or cedar. Add welded wire mesh behind it to hold smaller animals.

  • Good for: acreage, property lines, horses, a rural look
  • Lifespan: 15–20 years
  • Note: priced by the foot, so long runs stay affordable

Gates

Every fence needs at least one

Gates are where cheap installs fail first — they sag, they drag, and the latch stops lining up after one wet season. We build walk gates, double drive gates, and mower-width gates with heavy-duty hinges and properly set posts.

If you mow your own yard, tell us the deck width when we come measure. It's the single most common thing people wish they'd mentioned.
